Nursing Opportunities

For this project to be successful, we need local health care expertise. You know best the needs of both our patients and care providers. That said, CST is hiring registered nurses for the first phase of the CST Implementation at Lions Gate Hospital. CST is hiring registered nurses, registered psychiatric nurses, and licensed practical nurses.

In these roles, you will be trained to serve as a peer mentor to front-line clinicians as they make the transition to the new Cerner clinical information system and the shared clinical practices and workflows that it supports.

We are looking for experience in the following clinical areas:

  • Palliative
  • Medicine/Surgery
  • Operating Room
  • Emergency
  • Mental Health
  • Endoscopy

  • Post Anesthetic Recovery

Project Scope

Project work includes designing and validating shared, consistent, evidence-informed clinical practices; and configuring a powerful new clinical information system. It also includes developing a comprehensive education program that will cater to the different learning needs of care providers, nurses, and ancillary and support staff across VCH, PHSA and PHC.

What this means for health professionals

  • An electronic patient chart means no more searching for the chart, writing orders on paper, or deciphering handwriting.
  • Easy-to-access information about the patient’s condition, allergies, medications and previous medical history.
  • Ability to see a patient’s chart when they’re still in the Emergency Department, before they have arrived on a hospital unit.
