Thank you for your interest in Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH). We are excited you are now ready to apply for a role with our health care team. These step-by-step instructions are provided to help you use the VCH CareerHub online system to submit your application for your role.
Note: These instructions are for those applying for an external opportunity. If you are a current VCH staff member or Nurse Practitioner, please follow the instructions and links for the internal VCH CareerHub system in How to apply as an internal applicant.
First time applying with VCH?
- Search for external job opportunities using our VCH CareerHub system. You can use the system to search by role, category or location. Unsure of which role is right for you? Learn about career opportunities across VCH.

When you've found the job you'd like to apply for, click "Apply Now". From there, you’ll be taken through the steps to create your VCH Careers profile as part of your first application.
If there isn’t a specific job you’d like to apply for yet, you can also create a VCH Careers profile without applying for a job. When you create a profile, you will have the opportunity to subscribe to news, updates and events, while also staying informed of new opportunities in your field. Create a VCH Careers profile.

How will I know if I have been shortlisted for a position?
If you are shortlisted for a position, you will be contacted either by phone or email to arrange next steps.

It has come to our attention that fake recruitment programs are using the name of Vancouver Coastal Health, or claiming to be a recruitment service posting positions on behalf of Vancouver Coastal Health, in order to extract money from people in need of employment. These types of job postings and offers, and their association with Vancouver Coastal Health, are NOT legitimate. VCH does not use any third-party recruitment services to fill physician, nurses, allied health professionals, or any other vacancies within VCH. DO NOT exchange any money with someone offering positions, placements or seminars claiming to be in relation to Vancouver Coastal Health. In addition, do not give any personal information such as passport numbers or driver’s license numbers as this may result in identity theft.

How do I submit a different cover letter and/or resume for each job posting that I am applying to?
We recommend you use a generic resume (to the attention of ‘Talent Acquisition’) when setting up your VCH Profile as the system only allows for one cover letter and one resume to be uploaded to your profile. In the career application system, the most recently uploaded cover letter and/or resume will automatically override the existing one.

As we receive numerous applications, only candidates whose background and experience most closely fit the needs of the position will be contacted. We encourage you to visit our website to review our vacancies and apply to specific job postings that match your qualifications, skills, and experience. In order to be considered, you must meet, or exceed all the qualifications listed on the posting you are applying to.

How to apply if you last used your VCH Careers account before March 20, 2023
We updated our CareerHub system in March 2023. If you are a returning candidate and last used your account before March 20, 2023, please follow these step-by-step instructions to reset your password to log in before applying for a role.
- Log back in to the VCH CareerHub application system.
- Enter the username/email address you used to access your account with us before March 20, 2023 and click “Continue.”
- Click the “Reset Password” link and then “Send Email.” You will receive an email with instructions on how to set a new password for our new CareerHub system.
- Once your password is reset, you can enter your username/email and new password to log in.
- Once logged in, please check that your information has transferred over correctly and update anything out of date.
