- Why Choose VCH
As one of British Columbia's six regional health authorities, we, Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) are a world class innovator in medical care, research and teaching, delivering service to more than one million BC residents living in Vancouver, Vancouver's North Shore, Richmond, the Sea-to-Sky Highway, Sunshine Coast, Bella Bella, Bella Coola, and the Central Coast. We are dedicated to delivering the highest quality services in areas including primary care, community-based residential and home health care, mental health, substance use, public health and research. We are an organization fully committed to supporting healthy lives in healthy communities with the robust resources of 13 hospitals, a number of community health centres, 2,500 physicians, more than 13,500 full time staff, and over $3 billion in funding.
But that's only part of the story. VCH is about something bigger; this is a place where we embrace thinking boldly, taking smart risks, and "going first" – on everything from new surgical techniques to funding models – when we believe it will lead to the best possible outcomes for patients and their families. We are proud to hold best-in-class awards in everything from research, surgical care and infection control, to harm reduction, community care, communications and community engagement. At our core, we are a people-focused organization where entrepreneurial spirit runs deep, and opportunity exists for all those who see themselves in the transformation of health care as we know it.
We now have the opportunity for a Director to join VCH within the Richmond Community of Care. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director, Public Health and Primary Care will lead planning, delivery, and evaluation of VCH’s strategic goals and objectives with a focus on three main components of the portfolio: primary care, public health, and maternity care. The Director will also play a leadership role in further designing, developing, and expanding the Primary Care Home model which is still in its infancy.
The ideal candidate brings leadership experience in primary care and/or public health from within a healthcare system. S/he must have led teams to deliver on a mandate of ensuring high quality care with a mindset of intentionally transitioning patients to the most appropriate care settings. Relationship building and stakeholder engagement will also be important in determining success in this role.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity to have a meaningful impact on the delivery of care with VCH.
If this sounds exciting to you, we would love to connect with you. Reach out now to Donna Sangster, Management Recruiter at email@example.com or Amy (Gill) Sidhu Director, Management Talent Acquisition, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
