ABOUT HILLTOP HOUSE: Hilltop House is a residential care facility providing services around the clock to people who are no longer able to stay at home safely. It is an 86 bed facility that encompasses extended care and complex care residents, plus one respite bed.  The rooms are all single resident, with only 2 shared double rooms and the facility is sectioned into 3 units. There is an LPN for each unit and 1 RN to oversee all 3 units. Hilltop House is a two storey building with an older 1 storey building attached. Hilltop House is connected to Squamish General Hospital by a walkway, but is considered as a separate entity.


Practices in accordance with the standards, scope and code of ethics as outlined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of BC (CLPNBC) as well as within a client (patient, resident) and family centered care model and the vision and values of the organization. Working independently and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team performs full scope of practical nursing functions as outlined by CLPNBC for clients with predictable outcomes within a designated area of specialty. This includes activities such as assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting client care, and providing support to clients and their families. Working collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team and under general supervision supports the Registered Nurse in caring for clients with unpredictable outcomes or where the acuity or complexity of care requires an advanced level of knowledge and skill beyond the scope of practice for Licensed Practical Nurses. Maintains and advances clinical competence pursuant to the standards of practice of CLPNBC.
