Who are we?
Stepping Stones is a holistic day program for addiction and substance use. It is also open to people who have a mental illness in addition to substance use.


Our staff
The staff includes a team of doctors, nurses, social workers and therapists who are trained in both mental health and addiction treatment.





Within the context of an innovative Mental Health and Addictions partnership service, client-centered care model, and in accordance with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) standards of professional practice, Code of Ethics, and the established vision and values of the organization, the Outpatient Withdrawal Management/Opiate Replacement Therapy Nurse is responsible for screening, assessment, direct nursing care, education and counselling to clients presenting with/for opiate replacement therapy and other substance use issues and related problems within the West Community Health Centre and/or community partner organizations as required. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide outreach services to individuals with serious mental health and/or addiction issues in the community. Works effectively with challenging clients to maintain a safe environment for clients and staff. In addition, conducts initial and follow-up addiction, nursing and mental health assessments for clients who are requesting addiction services and withdrawal services. Collaborates and consults with interdisciplinary team members, educational resources and other health care professionals/providers, and participates in team meetings/conferences to achieve excellence in client-centered care and education.
