The main goals of occupational and physical therapy (also known as Community Rehabilitation Services) are to:

  • Help you improve or maintain your physical and functional abilities
  • Help set up your home so that doing daily tasks is easier and safer

What services are provided?

Physical therapists and occupational therapists provide assessment, consultation, treatment and education to you and your family. These services, sometimes called rehabilitation therapy, are available in community clinics and in your home, depending on your situation.

Therapists also provide information about getting or using aids for personal care, such as bath seats and grab bars, as well as equipment, such as scooters, wheelchairs and crutches.Who's eligible?To be eligible, you must meet the eligibility requirements for receiving Home and Community Care service.What costs are involved?Rehabilitation services under home and community care services are provided free of charge.How can I access this service?Visit the Accessing Services page in our Home and Community Care section to learn more.
