Manager, Mental Health
Vancouver Community
“Out of high school, I went straight into psych nursing. I wanted a profession where you worked closely with people. I really enjoy what I do. I enjoy the aspect of providing a service to people—it’s about helping people and that fuels me. I am a person who needs personal connections in my life.
When I got into the profession, I found there was such variety of areas to work in. I worked with children and youth for some time, then at Vancouver General Hospital Psych Emergency/PAU. When I started working in community, that’s when I felt I had found my calling. Maybe I’m saying that too strongly but I felt I really connected with the work in the community.”
