Where you may work

NPs at VCH work in over 100 positions across a variety of practice settings in rural, remote and urban areas, including:

  • Acute
  • Primary care
  • Long-term care
  • Ambulatory care

Starting as a new grad

VCH provides provisional licensing for NPs awaiting OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Exam) results, enabling early job start. We offer a supportive environment with tailored orientation for new graduates. Our Nurse Practitioner Advanced Education Programs include 200 hours of advanced education and clinical mentorship over the first three months to support the transition to independent practice.

OSCE Reimbursement

VCH reimburses the OSCE cost for NP candidates hired into regular or temporary positions, provided they haven't yet completed the exam. The reimbursement is a forgivable loan, forgiven after one year of continuous employment with VCH.

In addition to reimbursement, VCH organizes a biannual mock OSCE for newly hired NPs in preparation for their examination. These sessions occur 2-3 weeks before the actual exam, aiming to prepare provisionally licensed NPs with practice scenarios that closely resemble the licensing OSCE.

Total Compensation Package

VCH offers a competitive annual salary and a robust benefits package with comprehensive health benefits, a Municipal Pension Plan, and paid leave.

Professional growth is supported with exam reimbursements, annual dues coverage, and a professional development allowance.
