Long-term care provides professional care and supervision to adults in a supportive and secure environment. The services are available to people with complex care needs or conditions who cannot live safely and independently at home.

Parking & transportation
There is pay parking available at our two visitor lots located on the VGH campus:
- Multi-level parkade at the corner of West 12th Avenue and Laurel Street, across from the main entrance of the Jim Pattison Pavilion.
- The Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre parking lot is located off of Laurel Street between West 12th and West 13th Avenue. There is a wheelchair-accessible overpass from the VGH parkade at Level 4 and a crosswalk at Level 2.

185 beds in single rooms. All rooms have large windows and washrooms.
Hairdressing salon, tuck shop cart, library, podiatrist, foot care nurse, and dental services.
Language, culture, religious affiliations
Residents and staff of the Windermere come from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds and speak many languages. The predominant language spoken is English. An Asian meal is available for lunch. Catholic, Anglican and interdenominational services are held weekly.
Special recreation opportunities
A broad range of recreational and restorative care programs are provided by staff and volunteers to meet our residents' physical, spiritual and cognitive abilities. The home has a wheelchair-accessible bus for field trips and outings.
Accessibility
One large wheelchair-friendly elevator and two smaller elevators that do not easily accommodate wheelchairs. The home is not able to accommodate motorized wheelchairs or scooters.
Safety and security features
Windermere Care Centre is not a secured site. However, the garden is enclosed, and exits are locked or monitored for wandering. “RoamAlert” wander monitoring system is available for residents at risk. All rooms have smoke detectors, sprinklers and two call bells. Security cameras monitor all floors.

One block to transit on Oak Street. Close to City Square shopping centre and the Broadway shopping corridor.
