Richmond Cardiac Rehabilitation is a comprehensive eight-week program designed to enhance your heart health. We will help you to identify the risk factors related to heart problems. You will learn how to lead a heart-healthy life by reducing risk factors. This program is a user-pay program. A financial subsidy is available to those who qualify through our social worker.

Our classes
The program is divided into three parts:
- Supervised Exercise Class - 2 morning sessions per week
- Nutrition Class - 1 morning session per week
- Life Skills Class - 1 morning session per week
The life skills and nutrition classes are offered alternatively on the same mornings you attend the exercise classes.

Check eligibility
This program is designed for people who have had:
- A heart attack
- An angiogram/angioplasty
- Bypass surgery
- Valve problems
You will also benefit from this program if you have a high risk of developing heart problems.

Get a referral
Your family doctor or cardiologist can refer you to the program. Have your family doctor or cardiologist complete the PHC & VCH cardiology referral form.

If possible, it is helpful for your doctor to include test results and reports.
When your referral has been received you will be contacted by mail or phone to arrangement any necessary prerequisite appointments. Once we have your complete assessment, you will be scheduled for an intake interview with our nurse and physiotherapist and we will arrange a start date.

- Monday: 9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Tuesday: 9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Wednesday: 9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Thursday: 9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Friday: Closed
- Saturday: Closed
- Sunday: Closed
We are closed on statutory holidays.
Parking & Transportation
Free parking is available.
Driving to the centre:
- From Blundell Road go north (right) onto Cheviot Place
- Turn right onto Chelmsford Street
- Turn left onto Chelsea Road
- Turn right onto Chelsea Place
Taking the bus to the centre:
- Take bus #402 Brighouse Station/Two Road
- Bus stop is at Cheviot Place
- Walk to Wellness Centre is 0.5 km (5 minutes). Follow the brown signs posted with the street signs
