Vancouver Coastal Health opening COVID-19 vaccination clinics at Langara College and Vancouver Community College for students and general public
B.C.'s Provincial Health Officer rescinds orders for COVID-19
This news release contains information that is more than six months old and may be out of date. On July 26, 2024, B.C.’s Provincial Health Officer issued an order to end the public health emergency for COVID-19 and rescinded all related orders.
VANCOUVER, B.C. – Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is adding more on-campus vaccination clinics across the region, making it easier for students, faculty, stuff and members of the public to get vaccinated for COVID-19.
All eligible individuals are invited to attend the on-campus or nearby neighbourhood clinics to receive their first or second dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Vaccinations are free of charge and available to anyone 12 years of age and older, including people who don't have a personal health number or people who are not residents of B.C.
To be eligible for a second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, it needs to be at least 28 days since your first dose. Please bring your COVID-19 Immunization Record Card if you have it.
"We know the safety of our campuses increases when people are vaccinated," said Anne Kang, Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Training. "These on-campus clinics make it easy and convenient to get the vaccine – make the choice to protect your community and play an active role in ensuring a safe return to school this fall."
As part of the new provincial vaccine requirement, accessing some non-essential services on campus will now require proof of vaccination. This will apply to on-campus indoor venues, including but not limited to gyms, nightclubs, restaurants and a variety of indoor events, such as sporting events and concerts. Students who are living in on-campus housing will also require proof of vaccination.
Clinic dates, times, and locations can be found at www.vch.ca/vaccine. Please check the website regularly as clinic times and locations are updated regularly.
