Training programs for voice care professionals
Professional orientation programs are offered to provide speech-language pathologists who are serving individuals with dysfunction of the voice and larynx with up-to-date information and clinical skills so they can deliver effective and efficient community-based voice care programs in British Columbia.

Training in management of clients with dysfunction of the voice and larynx
Clinical program components
The professional orientation program consists of literature reviews and studies from the participant’s home base, followed by clinical observation and hands-on experience with assessment and management of clients with dysfunction of the voice and larynx. Reading material will be assigned before training, which comprises one to two weeks of practical experience at the Provincial Voice Care Resource Program (PVCRP) at Vancouver General Hospital.
Eligibility for the training program
Applicants for the clinical training program will be speech-language pathologists who are registered with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC with no practice restrictions and who are employed to provide clinical services to British Columbia residents experiencing dysfunction of the voice and larynx. Applications will be considered based on a caseload priority-needs basis.
Tuition and expenses
Tuition for the on-site clinical training program is currently covered by annual continuing service agreements with the Provincial Health Services Authority, which supports the PVCRP activities of Alannah Turner, RSLP. Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, meal and incidental expenses incurred to participate in the clinical training program.
