Accreditation
Accreditation helps to ensure we're providing safe, high-quality care to every single patient. It's one of the most effective ways for Vancouver Coastal Health to regularly and consistently examine and improve the quality of our services. While the process is voluntary, all health authorities in B.C. participate.
Accreditation Canada surveyors will be visiting sites across Vancouver Coastal Health from November 19 to 24, 2023. You may be approached by a surveyor for a brief interview on your care experience.
It is your right to accept or decline participation. Should you choose to participate, please feel free to answer openly and honestly. Your comments will remain confidential and will help improve the quality of our services.
Accreditation Distinction Award for Regional Trauma Program
In February 2016, our Regional Trauma Program participated in Accreditation Canada’s Trauma Distinction Program and received the Trauma Distinction Award—the first program in Canada to do so.
