Message from Vivian Eliopoulos
President and CEO, Vancouver Coastal Health
I am pleased to share this year’s VCH Impact Report, which shows the continuous efforts and recent achievements of our remarkable team of dedicated staff, medical staff, volunteers and community partners. Their collective contributions uphold and inspire our vision, values and purpose.
VCH is a values-based organization, and our teams work together to live those values every day. These include caring for everyone, always learning and striving for better results. An organization’s culture is influenced by its values and at VCH they help guide our behaviour and create a workplace where everyone is working toward a common purpose – to deliver an exceptional care experience for all.
This past year we’ve also been guided by our organizational pillars, furthering the direction of our commitment to create safe, healthy spaces for everyone, supporting quality patient outcomes and access to equitable care, all while making VCH a great place to work. We remain focused on improving our programs and services to help ensure they are culturally safe, respectful and appropriate and advance health equity. We call these focus areas “pillars,” and they include Indigenous cultural safety; equity, diversity and inclusion; anti-racism and planetary health.
I remain in awe of the dedication and commitment of our team of staff, medical staff and our health partners, who come together to support people, and each other, while facing significant challenges and crises inside and outside of our communities of care.
Please read more about the incredible work being done, and the incredible people who make it possible. I hope these stories inspire you as much as they inspire me.
