How to get here

ASK ADP is located within the Dogwood Care Home building, which is operated by Vancouver Coastal Health. However, the ADP is a completely separate program, operated by the ASK Friendship Society with its own staff and entrance.

The door to ASK ADP is near the main entrance to Dogwood Care Home. You will see two doors: the door on the right is to Dogwood Care Home, and the door on the left is to ASK ADP. To the right of the door is a buzzer. Please press the buzzer and a staff member will assist you during working hours.

Street parking is available along West 57th, West 59th, West 60th and West 61st Avenues (between Heather and Cambie Streets). There is also parking along Heather, Ash and Paulson Streets, and an underground parkade at West 59th Avenue and Paulson Street.

If you are dropping off a client, there is a pull-through drop-off area in front of the building. You can temporarily park right in front of the ASK Friendship Society door.

Many clients arrive at the Centre by HandyDart. ASK will help apply for and manage your HandyDart service

More about the services

The ASK Friendship Society runs an adult day program focusing on the well-being of seniors and their caregivers. There are opportunities to make new friends and have fun doing therapeutic activities with the support of a caring team of trained staff members. Staff lead a daily exercise program and provide hot lunch as well as activities, such as music therapy, art programs, active games, discussion groups and entertainment. An onsite nurse monitors clients’ health, and ASK continually communicates with case management and families. The adult day program provides information, referrals, and support to family caregivers. Please connect to inquire about current caregiver support available.

The ASK Adult Day Program previously operated at a temporary location in Kerrisdale for several years, during the redevelopment of Dogwood Care Home.

Dogwood Care Home

Dogwood Care Home was developed in collaboration with the Dogwood Family Council and the City of Vancouver Seniors Advisory Committee. It reflects best practices for neighbourhood models and priorities for access to outdoor spaces, private rooms, small homes and in-home dining.

Adult Day Programs

Adult Day Programs provide structure services and activities to adults living with physical and/or cognitive impairment and want to keep living independently as long as possible.
