Harm reduction: Toward the Heart 

Community-based assessment and treatment for children and youth ages 6 to 12, who are affected by moderate to severe mental health concerns. This program also helps to coordinate care and services with other community resources. If you are a youth ages 12 to 18, ICY support is available at Foundry Richmond.

The Integrated Child and Youth (ICY) team is part of B.C.'s mental health and substance use care strategy and receives funding from the Government of B.C.. The team provides mental health assessment and treatment at school and in the community for children and youth experiencing mental health and substance use challenges.

How to access

  • Check eligibility

    • Children and youth aged 6 to 12
    • Resident of Richmond
  • Languages

    English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, French and Punjabi. Interpreters will be provided if required.

  • Get a referral

    Call (604) 204-1111 to connect with our teams that support children, youth, adults, and older adults in Richmond. 

    ​Both professional referrals and self-referrals are accepted. Appointments with a psychiatrist require a referral from a health professional. Our Richmond MHSU referral form may be completed by a physician or a nurse practitioner.

There is a pay parking lot adjacent to the building.  Bus stops are located on Westminster Highway. The office is located 10 minutes from the Richmond-Brighouse Station.

Child and adolescent mental health programs in Richmond provide community-based assessment and treatment for children and youth ages 6 to 12 and their families, who are affected by serious mental health concerns. This program also helps to coordinate care and services with other community resources.

Psychiatric Consultation

Psychiatric assessment by a psychiatrist (brief follow up one to three sessions) for children and adolescents who are experiencing mental health concerns. Our program provides a multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists and mental health clinicians. Every effort is made to include family and service providers in the treatment planning.
