    ​Hospital admissions can be accessed in a number of ways and require a psychiatric assessment.

    If you feel you require this level of service, reach out to your mental health team, crisis lines or go to your closest emergency department (ED).

75 beds focused on clients who require longer-term, intensive treatment to return to their community. The length of stay is approximately five to 12 days.

14-bed short stay unit focused on clients who require short term, intensive treatment to return to their community. The length of stay is approximately three days.

A co-managed space in the VGH Emergency Department (ED) for assessing and triaging ED patients who present with mental health and substance use conditions.

Psychiatry Consultation Clinic

Level 8 - 2775 Laurel Street, Vancouver

The Psychiatry Consultation Clinic services the needs of the inpatient units in Medical/Surgical wards. The Physicians will request a consultation from our program to determine whether the admitted patient is currently dealing with a mental health problem.

A referral through the attending physician is required. The clinic is open Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
