Harm reduction: Toward the Heart 

A short stay crisis intervention facility in the community for Richmond residents 19 and over who are experiencing a mental health crisis but do not require an acute psychiatric hospitalization.  Clients are cared for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be admitted for a maximum of 14 days.

How to access

  • Check eligibility

    Richmond residents aged 19 and over who are experiencing a mental health crisis but do not require an acute psychiatric hospitalization. 

  • Get a referral

    A person must be referred by health-care professional. Referral must include a physician assessment within the last 24 hours. All referrals are screened prior to admission to ensure the facility is able to provide safe care.
