The Mood Disorders Clinic, offered through UBC Mood Disorders Centre – Research, Education, Awareness, and Care Hub (MDC REACH), provides a consultation clinic focusing on depression and bipolar disorders, in which patients receive careful assessment, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations.
What to expect
The Mood Disorders Clinic, a program offered through the UBC Mood Disorders Centre – Research, Education, Awareness, and Care Hub (MDC REACH), is an active outpatient clinic that focuses on consultations – single-visit assessments and treatment recommendations – of adult patients. Within the clinic, we have programs for
- seasonal depression (seasonal affective disorder),
- first episode mania, and
- treatment-resistant mood disorders.
We follow a limited number of patients for brief management (typically two to three months), usually in clinical research protocols. The focus of expertise is on medication management, psychotherapy, and neurostimulation treatments.
