The Management Education & Development team supports leadership development for our management team so leaders can effectively guide the delivery of outstanding care.

We provide targeted and customized education and consulting to leaders that supports their achievement of VCH Strategic Priorities, building high performing teams, and promoting a learning organization.  We promote a continuous learning culture that improves business unit performance and supports high performing teams.

We provide a range of professional development opportunities to support the growth of our leadership to develop the behaviours required to implement the organization’s objectives, strengthen business unit performance and foster a culture that supports high performance teams.

Successful completion of this practical, interactive program qualifies participants for a Certificate of Excellence in Frontline Leadership. The goal of the program is to provide VCH frontline leaders with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to increase confidence and competence as leaders and thereby help improve their employees’ levels of satisfaction and performance, whatever the workplace.

The objectives of this program are to provide VCH’s front line leaders with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to increase their confidence and competence as leaders and, thereby, help improve employees’ levels of satisfaction and performance in all of VCH’s workplaces. The program has three over-arching themes, which are delivered over 6 full-day sessions as follows: Leading from Your Strengths (Day 1 & 2), Leading Others (Day 3 & 4), Leading in a Complex Organization (Day 5 & 6)

Who it’s for?

Any VCH employee working in a full-time, frontline leadership capacity that involves supervision of people.

All courses make extensive use of role plays, case studies and other action learning group processes to help participants develop and practice their skills and successfully transfer them back to their workplaces.
